Got My "Journey - Live In Manila" Dvd!

I am happy to say that after watching "Journey, Live In Manila" dvd, I was not disappointed. Its filled with old school classics that I grew up listening to...and also finally got to hear live two of the songs from the Journey Revelation Cd release "Turn Down The World Tonight" and "What I Needed" which to me have that sound of a bluesy ballad which is just soothing and after seeing them 3 times live with Arnel and never get to hear them play those songs and now I have it on this dvd is just the icing on the cake.

I did not saw them at the Santa Bowl ... yeah, yeah no excuse... this was a late additional gig added to their roster at the very last minute...and unfortunately I have plans set for that evening. But hey...I got the Live In Manila Dvd...bought a couple and gave some to my sis and bros and nephews...and looking forward for the next Cd as soon as our Journey boys are rested and finished taking their well deserved quality time with their loved ones...then off again to solitary confinement in the studio to start working on the new album which should be carried on for the next world tour!

I am also looking forward for the release of Arnel's life story in a movie "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" that is to be released December 1, 2009 and hopefully out in some local theaters around the country(US)I hope.

Paso Robles did not dissappoint!

'This is my 3rd time watching Journey with AP at the helm' (I saw this lineup with SP at Day on the Green in early 80's?). What a great show indeed. We were outside the gates when Heart came on played Barracuda. When we got in, the place was already packed all the way up the rafters. After Heart's set, I asked my friend to go and get a beer. Man let me tell you it took us 30 minutes to get to the concession stand and another 30 minutes to get the drink. It was that many people and to booth we missed 2 songs before we got back to our seats (Row NN, Seat 152,153,154,155). As soon as we settled, we were rockin with Journey and having a good time. I managed to record 2 of Heart's jam, and 1 from Journey as I would like to enjoy the show and settled for just one because of past experience it have to be that way. I will try to upload it on my blog.

I saw a co-worker who is a regular concert goer and told me that he never saw Paso Robles Mid-State Fair this crowded since his past concerts on this venue. He was actually surprised that even the community neighborhoods backyards was turned into paid parking lots just to accomodate the wave of people that went to the fair on this day.

Overall, had a great time, sound was great for an open venue...heard AP talking to mic "Pinoy, yeah" while exiting the stage. Looking forward for the Dvd release and a new album for next year, yeah!

Journey will grace the stage of my current hometown California Central Coast of Paso Robles at the California Mid-State Fair!

The latest band to join this summer's California Mid-State Fair lineup has a message for fans: Don't Stop Believing."

Classic rock band Journey is set to perform at the fair on July 23, 2009, along with the rock band Heart.

Created in 1973 by Santana alumni Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie, Journey rose to fame in the late 1970's with the songs "Wheel In The Sky" and "Lights."

The next decade saw the Bay Area band formerly fronted by lead vocalist Steve Perry and reaching new heights with such hits as "Any Way You Want It," "Who's Crying Now," "Don't Stop Believing" and "Open Arms" Massive arena concert tours and platinum record sales followed. Much of Journey's original lineup had since disbanded by 1994.

Journey hired its current singer, Arnel Pineda, in December 2007 after guitarist Neal Schon spotted the Filipino national singing Journey covers on YouTube.com.

The band now features two original members, Schon and bassist Valory Ross, as well as Jonathan Cain on keyboards and Deen Castronovo on drums.

Journey has now released 13 albums, including 2008's "Revelation," which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard charts. The band Journey has last played at the California Mid-State Fair in 2005.

Journey will be joined on the Main Grandstand Arena state by the classic rock band Heart. Fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilsons, the band is best-known for such 70's hits as "Crazy On You," "Magic Man" and "Barracuda." Heart last performed at the fair in 2002.

Journey and Heart are scheduled to perform July 23 at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2189 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.
